DIRT MotorSports Co-Sponsors NASCAR Busch Series No. 33 Car During O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway
NORMAN, Okla.--April 15, 2005--Boundless Motor Sports Racing, Inc. d/b/a DIRT MotorSports announced that on Saturday, April 16, the colors of the World of Outlaws Sprint Series(R) will join those of its exclusive broadcast partner, The Outdoor Channel, on the No. 33 Chevrolet driven by Tony Stewart in the NASCAR Busch Series O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.A longtime sponsor in the Busch Series, The Outdoor Channel is in its first year of supporting a car owned by NASCAR star Kevin Harvick, whose team is sixth in owner's points.
"We're proud to have The Outdoor Channel and the World of Outlaws as our sponsors this weekend on the No. 33 Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway," Harvick said. "We're happy to be able to provide a platform for them to spread the word about one of the most exciting forms of racing on a network dedicated to providing the best in outdoor programming."
Stewart, who in February drove Harvick's No. 33 car into Victory Lane at Daytona International Speedway, is a perfect fit to campaign The Outdoor Channel/World of Outlaws Sprint Series machine this weekend. Stewart, one of the most versatile drivers in racing, is a World of Outlaws Sprint Series car owner who watched the series compete last weekend at his newly purchased Eldora Speedway.
"Kevin and DeLana Harvick have put together a great race team," said Stewart, the 2002 NASCAR Cup Series champion. "They have the best of everything and they have the right people to put it all together. It's great driving for them. You're in top-notch equipment and you just go out there and race to win. Who wouldn't like that?"
More than two million households are expected to tune in the race on FOX at 2 p.m. Eastern Saturday. In addition to another 100,000 or so in attendance at Texas Motor Speedway, the Outdoor Channel and the World of Outlaws Sprint Series view this event as an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the best collection of sprint car racers competing at 8 p.m. Eastern every Wednesday on The Outdoor Channel.
"It's our second year of Outlaws broadcasts and we're trying to raise awareness for sprint car racing on The Outdoor Channel," said Wade Sherman, The Outdoor Channel's Senior Vice President of Programming. "When we had the opportunity to put a former sprint car driver and current World of Outlaws car owner with our existing program that promotes our most important motor sports partner, how can you not? It's a great way to let the world know, especially NASCAR fans that the Outlaws are alive and kicking and they're exclusively on The Outdoor Channel."
"This co-sponsorship with The Outdoor Channel is another key component in our plans to take the World of Outlaws to the next level while promoting our teams, sponsors, drivers and the promoters of our events across the country," said Paul A. Kruger, DIRT Chairman and CEO. "We hope that our loyal fans will really enjoy seeing an 'outlaw car' running against the rest of the NASCAR field."
So for at least one race, the World of Outlaws Sprint Series won't mind pounding the pavement, even if NASCAR rules forbid a wing on the roof and a big right rear tire.
