#48 Lowe's Chevrolet
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS BEFORE TODAY'S RACE?
We have a great race car. We had a great race car at Fontana and I think
just one more lap and we could have won that race. The Lowe's Monte
Carlo is in great shape. We had a great Happy Hour, we posted some of
the fastest times. We were a little off in the long runs, but Chad works
his butt off to make this car work well to drive for me and these Lowe's
guys work really hard. It's good. I think it's going to be a long race
and a slick race and hopefully we'll have this baby up front when we
need it.
Kevin Harvick
#29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet
DO YOU FEEL CONFIDENT DESPITE YOUR STARTING POSITION?
Yeah, this GM Goodwrench Chevrolet is really fast. You know, it's a lot
like California. We started in the back and had a good race car and
drove straight to the front. I think we learned yesterday that you can
definitely pass pretty easily, if the car is good. So, we're looking
forward to it, it will be fun to watch at the beginning and we'll get
ourselves in a position where we can hopefully win the race.
Jeff Gordon
#24 DuPont Chevrolet
HOW IS YOUR CAR?
We'll find out really soon. I think we're better than where we qualified
at. I'm really proud of this DuPont Chevrolet team, they've been
performing on race day and in the pits and communication and chemistry
is there. You know, we want to redeem ourselves a little bit from the
tough luck we had with the engine in California. I feel very confident
that we've got that all behind us and I look forward to putting it out
there for how
HOW IS THE WIND A FACTOR HERE?
Well, the biggest issue is it looks there might be a bit of a crosswind
down the middle of 1 and 2. It is going to make it challenging for us to
get the car turned in the middle of the corner. It really helps us going
into Turn 3 because it's a headwind and we can drive in there really
deep, really hard and just use the wind to brake the car and turn the
car as well. We should be in good shape there. Other than that the wind
is not that much of a factor. It's really all about track temperature
more than anything else.
