NORTHWEST NHRA DIVISION SUMMIT SERIES FINALS -- TUESDAY FINAL RESULTS

NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES - NORTHWEST DIVISION FINALS

MISSION RACEWAY PARK, MISSION, BC

SEPTEMBER 14, 2004

NHRA NORTHWEST SUMMIT RACING SERIES CHAMPIONS

FINALLY CROWNED AT MISSION RACEWAY PARK

MISSION, BC - The Summit Racing Series racers in the Northwest Division
waited a long time to find out who the 2004 Northwest Division Team
Champions are. But now they know . Team Woodburn repeated. After two
days of rain delays and no competition at all on Monday, the 31 racers
racers who remained out of a field of more than 500 settled things about
noon on Tuesday. Tim Schillereff of Portland, Ore., took the Super Pro
title in his dragster and Jerry Gossette, of Quilcene, Wash., grabbed
the Pro title in his '68 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

Meanwhile, racers from Team Woodburn (Oregon) had piled up enough points
to clinch the team championships before the final rounds were even run.
It is the second championship in a row for the troops from Woodburn.

The Sportsman and Motorcycle/Snowmobile event titles were settled on
Sunday, as those two somewhat smaller fields were able to complete
eliminations as scheduled. Jody Lang, of Puyallup, Wash., won the
Sportsman title and Roger Wolff of Dundee, Ore., won the
Motorcycle/Snowmobile crown.

Saturday's action in the Race of Champions, which locks each track's
season champions in competition against each other, determined the
Northwest Division Champions for 2004 and the division's representatives
at the Summit Series showdown for national titles the NHRA Finals come
November in Pomona, Calif.

The Northwest Division Summit Series racers will convene in 2005 at
Pacific Raceways in Seattle, where team Woodburn will be trying for the
three-peat.
