BRAINERD, Minn. (Aug. 13, 2004) - Gary Scelzi, driver of the HEMI-powered
Oakley Dodge Stratus Funny Car, qualified No. 7 following four qualifying
sessions for Sunday's Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, posting the following
rounds:

1. 8.571/93.58
2. 4.939/314.90
3. 4.901/305.70 - No. 7 qualifying run
4. 4.907/276.01

Following the final qualifying session: "The car was the quickest to the
1000-ft. mark. It was running really well, but it got out of the groove and
over to the wall. I made a violent move back to the middle and I shut it off
early. So we're in good shape for eliminations. We're going to put a little
more weight on the front end we should be ready for tomorrow."
