Wayne Cloths Weekend Race Roundup and Other Ramblings
Hey there! Hope you had a great Labor Day holiday!
I'm just back from the MAGIC Show in Las Vegas, where next Spring's hot fashions are shown to buyers from all across the world, by Manufacturers from around the world. THE hot trend in hats is, believe it or not, the Foam or Twill front, Mesh back, Five Panel Trucker hat (Yes, that John Deere hat is now IN!). Want to add a Trucker to your Q4 or 2004 lineup? Give me a call! It's not only cool, but relatively inexpensive.
Next road trip for me will be the NOPI Nationals, Sept. 20-21, at Atlanta Motor Speedway. If you'll be there and would like me to stop by to discuss your Headwear and Polo needs, drop me a line or give me a call, and I'll make sure to catch up with you!
Here's what went on around the racing globe this weekend:
NASCAR - Reports of Terry Labonte's demise have been GREATLY exaggerated. Terry put the Kellogg's Chevrolet in Victory Lane for the first time since 1999, and at Darlington, where he won his first race. This was also the last Labor Day NASCAR Winston Cup Series Mountain Dew Southern 500, making it all the more special for Labonte and his team. Saturday at Darlington, Brian Vickers won his second race of the year, the NASCAR Busch Series Winn-Dixie 200 presented by PepsiCo, beating Kyle Busch (Yes, Kurt's little brother).
ARCA - At Winchester Speedway, Frank Kimmel won the Re/Max Series 200 in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford.
NHRA - The 49th Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, at Indianapolis Raceway Park, were postponed until next weekend due to persistent wet weather.
CART - In Denver, Bruno Junquiero won his second Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford race of the year, the Centrix Financial Grand Prix. In winning, Junquiero decreased Paul Tracy's points lead to 18.
SCCA Pro Racing - In Denver, Scott Pruett won his seventh race of the year in the newly renamed, Motorock Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup in the Motorock Jaguar XKR.
