RAIN SHORTENS DAY'S QUALIFYING AT GAINESVILLE RACEWAY

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -The second day of racing at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event being held at Gainesville Raceway, was shortened Saturday due to rain.
	"We plan to resume racing tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.," said NHRA Southeast Division Director Bill Holt. "Our plan is to give the competitors in Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car, as well as those in Competition Eliminator and Top Sportsman a qualifying attempt in the morning before starting eliminations in those classes."
 	The competitors in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny will each receive one run at 10:30 a.m.. Eliminations are set to take place at 1:30 p.m., following the opening round of John Bleakley Motorhomes Top Sportsman. 
For the competitors in Super Stock and Stock Eliminator Saturday wasn't a total wash. The competitors in Super Stock and Stock Eliminator were able to make one qualifying attempt before the skies gave way to rain, and their fields are now set.
	The low qualifier in Super Stock is Holly, Mich., runner Chuck Gallagher. His 8.448-second run earns him $400 from Sealed Power as part of their $3500 low qualifier bonus award. Qualified in the second spot is Andy Fogle of Norway, S.C. In third is Mike Crutchfield of Montgomery, Ala.  
	In Stock Eliminator, Danny Holder of Chapmansboro, Tenn., is the low qualifier in the class. His 11.841-second pass earns him $200 from Sealed Power. Brandon Wood of Tallahassee, Fla., and Tom Hemmingson of Concord, N.C., are qualified second and third in the class. 
The gates at Gainesville Raceway will open tomorrow at 7a.m. with qualifying and time trials set to begin at 8:30 a.m., leading off with Super Street. A qualifying session in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., with eliminations to follow at 1:30 p.m.
