TEST & TUNE SESSION SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 21
2003 Season Will Start the First Thursday In February


Irwindale, Calif. - - All good things must come to an end, and so Irwindale must announce the final drag strip  "Test & Tune" session will take place on Thursday night, November 21.  "This year has been a very good one for our NHRA Street Legal Program here at Irwindale,"  said Dragstrip Director Gene Bergstrom.  "We've had good success with the strip, our "Speeding Ticket" program in conjunction with the Irwindale Police Department, and with the fans."

Drag Racing will be taking a couple of the winter months off at Irwindale but will return to the NHRA-sanctioned 1/8-Mile Street Legal Dragstrip on the first Thursday in February.

"We've had a year with many highs and a few lows, some great racing and some neat special events that centered around the drag strip ... and the 2003 edition looks to be even better," said Bergstrom.

The Dragstrip will remain available for private testing, and movie/TV/commercial use during the off-season.  Private groups who wish to rent the facility for events or shows during the late November - late January "off-season" time period can call the Speedway offices for information at (626) 358-1100.

During the last drag racing season at Irwindale over 2,500 individual drivers made more than 20,000 timed runs on the strip, with an average of over 900 fans in attendance at each event.
