"I really like that track. We had a really good car there last year. We qualified 5th and had one of the fastest cars in Happy Hour. Unfortunately, we got in a wreck in the first turn on the first lap, so who knows what would have happened. That was our first time being there, and I seemed to adapt to it pretty well. When you run well at a track, you tend to really like it, so I'm really looking forward to going back." Does last year's wreck put you at a slight disadvantage? "It may a little bit for the race. I didn't get to see how the track changes in long runs and if the groove moved. Nobody really has that much more time than anyone else because it's so new. I think we'll still run fine." Tony Furr: "We've got a brand new car this weekend. We took it to the wind tunnel, and it blew really good numbers - low drag, good downforce. It's a good, balanced car, so hopefully we can go out there and have a good showing. Casey qualified 5th there last year and got taken out on the first lap. I had good success there last year with the team I was with. We qualified decent (25th) and led some of the race. We led 20-some laps of the race, so I think that we can run well out there this weekend." Stats & Facts 1. This will be Atwood's second Winston Cup Series visit to Kansas Speedway. 2. In last year's inaugural event at the 1.5-mile tri-oval, Atwood qualified 5th. Strong practice runs gave the team confidence for a good finish, but a multi-car accident in turn one on lap one forced Atwood to leave the race early. He finished 43rd. 3. Atwood won the Pepsi ARCA 200 from the pole at Pocono on Saturday, June 27. He drove the No. 19 Evernham Motorsports-owned Dodge Intrepid R/T as part of the team's research and development program.
