KIMMEL WINS NASHVILLE POLE WITH NEW TRACK RECORD

LEBANON TN, 8-10-01 - Frank Kimmel, in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork-ET
Sharp Ford, won the Old Milwaukee Pole Award here Friday at Nashville
Superspeedway. The current point leader and 2-time champ broke his own
1-lap track record by nearly 7 mph with a speed of 158.267. It was
Kimmel's sixth pole of the year and 16th of his career. "Just really
happy with car," said Kimmel, "just like we were here in the Spring;
hopefully we can carry it over to the race."

Jason Jarrett, in Mary Miller's Biomet-Damon RV Chevrolet, qualified
outside pole with a speed of 155.906. Justin Labonte continues to
impress the troops in the Cunningham Motorsports Dodge Intrepid having
qualified third at 155.775 in his first attempt on the 1.33-mile
concrete oval. Labonte is the first driver in ARCA RE/MAX Series history
to run a Dodge Intrepid in ARCA competition.
