USAC: Three Dirt Regional Midget Races Added at Kokomo

The 2001 USAC Dirt-Track Regional Midget Car Series increased its schedule today with the addition of three dates at the Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. The series now comprises seven races at three facilities.

Race organizer Dave Duncan has selected July 1, July 15 and August 12 for Sunday night races at his Kokomo Speedway, joining three races at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. and one at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track on the 2001 calendar.

"We are delighted that Kokomo has joined the series," says USAC Midget Series Coordinator Jason Smith. "Kokomo has always produced exciting competition for our participants and we expect more of the same this year."

Michael Lang of Indianapolis, Ind. is the defending series champion but Shane Hollingsworth scored his initial USAC feature win in the 2001 opener at Putnamville. The next series race will be the July 1 event at Kokomo.
