Indianapolis, IN - As of June 1, 2001, Excite@Home and Cheever Indy Racing have amicably ended their partnership. Excite@Home will no longer sponsor Cheever Indy Racing's #51 Infiniti-powered race car in the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series. The car will now be entered as the #51 Cheever Indy Racing Infiniti.

"This relationship has been beneficial for our media properties as it has helped us reach a new audience of loyal consumers," said Hilleary Hoskinson, Excite@Home vice president of marketing. "As the business matures and we streamline our focus, we must look to relationships that fit more strategically with our future goals. We have enjoyed this relationship and wish Eddie and the team the best of luck."

"We were very pleased to partner with Excite@Home and we enjoyed a great relationship with them," said team owner/driver Eddie Cheever Jr., who piloted the #51 Excite@Home Infiniti to third place in the 2000 Indy Racing League standings. "With the support of Excite@Home, Cheever Indy Racing earned the first IRL win for Infiniti Motorsports at Pikes Peak last June and made a strong run at the series championship."

"Our goal at Cheever Indy Racing and Infiniti remains the same: to continue our quest to win the 2001 Indy Racing championship with the new Infiniti Indy 35A engine."

Associate sponsors of Cheever Indy Racing include Infiniti, Firestone, Menards, Bosch, True Grit and Eviciti.
