NHRA: Prolong super lubricants continues sponsorship of Northwest Nationals

GLENDORA, Calif. - Prolong Super Lubricants, a worldwide leader in car-care products and automotive lubricants, has signed a one-year contract extension with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) to continue their primary sponsorship of the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Seattle International Raceway. The Irvine, Calif.-based company has sponsored the race since 1998.

The 14th annual Prolong Super Lubricants NHRA Northwest Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts will be held July 27-29, at Seattle International Raceway, in Kent, Wash. The $1.8 million race, which will be televised by ESPN2, is the 15th of 24 events in the $50 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series for 2001.

"Prolong Super Lubricants has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the NHRA over the years and we're excited to renew our title sponsorship of this great event at Seattle International Raceway," said Fred Petrivelli, vice president of sales, marketing and motorsports programs for Prolong. "Many NHRA contestants, including a number of its champions, rely on Prolong products for success. Our sponsorship of the Seattle event is a logical outgrowth and we are delighted to have an organization with the national prominence of NAPA Auto Parts joining us in the venture."

The commitment increases Prolong's involvement with the NHRA. Prolong, a longtime NHRA contingency sponsor, also provides associate sponsorship for many NHRA pro category teams, including five-time NHRA Winston champion Kenny Bernstein, driver of the Budweiser King Top Fuel dragster.
