DEARBORN, Mich.- The race to defeat breast cancer continues. NASCAR fans can once again join Dale and Kelley Jarrett, Ford Credit and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in their continuing attempts to eradicate this deadly disease. This year, Ford Credit will help make fan support go even further by matching dollar-for-dollar every donation made through the Race Fans for a Cure(tm) program.

Ford Credit, associate sponsor of the No. 88 NASCAR Winston Cup Taurus, will sponsor "Race Fans for a Cure*" booths at various NASCAR Winston Cup events and Ford Racing Fan Appreciation Days during the 2001 race season. Designed to increase awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection, while providing a way for fans to support the Komen Foundation, Race Fans for a Cure(tm) booths contain literature describing the Komen Foundation and its mission, the three steps to early breast cancer detection and are equipped to take donations from fans.

For a $1 donation at the booths, fans will personalize a pink paper ribbon for inclusion on a banner to be displayed at Ford Credit's end-of-year check presentation to the Komen Foundation. Fans also will receive a keepsake enamel pink ribbon pin to show their support. This year, "Race Fans For a Cure*" will offer an exclusive, collectible tin to generate funds for Breast Cancer Research. This tin, containing two Dale Jarrett No. 88 diecast cars, the retired Quality Care/Ford Credit and new UPS/Ford Credit, are offered free as a gift for those making a $20 donation. All proceeds go directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Race fans donated $33,000 at "Race Fans for a Cure*" booths during 2000.

The next "Race Fans for a Cure*" booth will be at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 3rd and 4th. The program will continue at Texas Motor Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway, New Hampshire International Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Dover Downs International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway and Atlanta Motor Speedway. In addition, a "Race Fans for a Cure*" booth will be at Ford Racing Fan Appreciation Days in Detroit, Indianapolis and Miami, and at the 600 Festival in Charlotte.

As it has since 1998, Ford Credit will again continue donating money to the Komen Foundation for every top-three finish and each pole that Dale Jarrett earns during the 2001 NASCAR Winston Cup season. Over the past three years, Ford Credit has donated $492,500 to the Komen Foundation based on Jarrett's on-track performance and end-of-season bonuses. Ford Credit gives the Komen Foundation $10,000 for each of Dale's victories, $5,000 for each pole, $7,500 for every second-place finish and $5,000 for each third-place finish over the course of the season. Based on Jarrett's on-track success - including his third victory in the Daytona 500 - Ford Credit donated $97,500 in 2000.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is the nation's largest private funding source for breast cancer research and community outreach programs. More than 40,000 volunteers work through local affiliates and Komen Race for the Cure® events to further the Foundation's mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.

Ford Credit is a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company and the world's largest provider of automotive finance. It serves more than 10 million customers in 40 countries.
