What to do in case of an Auto Accident ?
If you have a claim resulting from theft or an accident, your agent is there to help. Just follow the simple steps suggested below.
  • Stay Calm and determine the extent of injuries or damage.
  • Call the Police to file an accident report and request medical assistance if needed. Don't leave the accident scene before the police arrive. A police report may be required by state or local law.
  • Limit Discussion of the accident and talk only with the police or your Agent or Claim Handler. Don't admit fault at the scene. If contacted by an attorney or claimant carrier for the other party, simply refer the attorney or claims adjuster to your Claim Adjuster.
  • Get the Facts and essential details at the scene. It is extremely important to record the names, addresses, phone numbers and insurance companies of individuals involved in the accident, the names of any witnesses, and the license plate numbers of cars involved. (use printable Accident Facts Form )
  • Call your Agent's Office 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to report the accident immediately even if it's minor, wasn't your fault or you don't have all the facts. We'll get the claim process started. If you're out of town, a local agent can provide the names of rental car companies, towing services and Priority Repair Option shops (not available in all states).
