LE MANS IS GO!!!!!!

The 64th race at La Sarthe is underway and right on time. Come 3 pm the cars pulled slowly into view around the Ford chicane, and Alan Delon waved a huge French flag to signal the drivers to floor it and go for 24!

After 2 hours, we have had all the first pit stops for fuel and in some cases tyres as well. The GT1 Porsche went off at a awful rate leading for first 45 minutes, with the WSC Courage and Joest cars hot on their tails. First off the track and into the sand trap was the Ferrari 333SP with team leader Evans at the wheel. Damage was limited and after some brief pit work the car is now back and in last place.

Currently the two TWR WSC Porsches are leading with Reuter/Jones/Wurz up front and the Courage C36 sandwiched between the GT1 Porsche in 4th. The leading McLaren is the Gulf Bellm/Weaver/Lehto, with the two FINA BMW backed ones in 9 and 10.

Conditions: BLOODY HOT and VERY DRY !
