Starcraft RV, Inc. 536 West Michigan St. PO Box 458 Topeka, IN 46571 USA Web site: http://starcraftrv.com The Starcraft company has a long history that dates back to 1903, when it was founded in Northern Indianas Amish country as a maker of livestock water tanks and other metal farm equipment. In the 1920s, Starcraft added a range of boats to the lineup. In 1964, Starcraft entered the RV industry with a line of folding camping trailers. The innovative campers, which included a hard top and crank-up lifter system, quickly achieved a major share of the RV market. Through the 1960's, 70's, 80's and 90's, Starcraft grew to become a dominant RV, marine and automotive and van conversion manufacturer. Today, Starcraft RV offers soft-sided truck campers, folding camping trailers, both lightweight and full-size travel trailers and fifth wheels in North America. In 1991, Starcraft RV was acquired by the huge Jayco RV company, and Starcraft subsequently took over a 100,000-sq.-ft. production facility in LaGrange, Indiana from Jayco. Starcraft now has two major manufacturing facilities one at its headquarters in Topeka, Indiana, and the other in LaGrange. A large percentage of Starcraft sales are in folding camping trailers, but the company has recently expanded its line of lightweight travel trailers and added lightweight fifth-wheel trailers as well with the Aruba Lite and Homestead Lite models. The Starcraft Marine and Automotive Groups operate under separate ownership, thus giving Starcraft extremely strong name recognition in the recreational vehicle industry.
