Toyota Vehicles at the 2004 LA Auto Show

Toyota Corolla XRS
Toyota’s Corolla model celebrates its 35th birthday in 2004 with the introduction of the all-new 2004 Toyota Corolla XRS sport sedan. It will feature a newly tuned version of the 1.8-liter, 170 horsepower 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual transmission found in both the Celica GT-S and Corolla Matrix XRS. The result is 0 to 60 mph acceleration in under 8.0 seconds, and fuel economy of 25/32 city/highway.

Toyota Prius
Toyota’s second-generation Prius gas-electric hybrid makes its debut as a 2004 model. Built at the Tsutsumi plant in Toyota City, Japan, Prius (Latin for “to go before”) is a mid-sized sedan powered by a combination of 67 horsepower electric motor and 1.5-liter, 76 horsepower, 4-cylinder gasoline engine. Estimated EPA fuel economy is 60 mpg in city driving and 51 mpg on the highway.

Toyota Camry Solara
The Solara was the first Toyota designed primarily in the U.S., at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California. Solara is built in Georgetown, Kentucky. The 2004 model is the second generation, and is distinguished by a new exterior design, roomier interior, enhanced safety technology and a higher level of performance.
