Effective today, August 1st, Brazil has updated the mandatory availability of (at least) E32 Ethanol-gasoline blends. The update follows Brazil's shift in August 2025 to E30 from E27. The move is stated as a temporary 6-month trial, but can be extended and made permanent. As I've previously written, Brazil will probably move to E40 by the year 2030.
From my own hands-on experiences for many years, ethanol-gasoline blends of E30 to E50 present a sweet spot that can be used in any non-flex fuel vehicle, providing equal or better MPG than E0/E10 along with significantly lower prices.
Of course, the most important aspect of this news is that if all spark-ignited internal combustion engine vehicles, regardless of age and make, can be used safely, cleanly, and economically on roads in Brazil, then all gasoline-powered vehicles in America can similarly use E32, with no problems or concerns. And, as I've proven many times over, this can save motorists hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year.
