There is no shortage of well-known German names in the luxury SUV market, yet the 2026 Genesis GV80 makes a compelling case that you don’t need one to have a premium experience. From the day it was introduced, the GV80 has been among the most attractive midsize luxury SUVs out there, and that’s still the case today. It is a package of elegant styling and first-class interior that can stand up to vehicles with much higher price tags.

As the flagship of the Genesis range, the 2026 GV80 puts on a good show with its mix of refinement and tech. Put it in the ring with a BMW X5, an Audi Q7, a Lexus RX or even a Mercedes-Benz GLE and you will find the GV80 has earned its spot at the top of your list.

Design is where the GV80 is at its strongest. Years on from its launch it is still one of the handsomest looking SUVs on the road. With its bold Crest Grille, two-line lighting and uncluttered bodywork, it has a sophisticated air about it. It is not as aggressive as some of its peers, nor does it try to be; the elegance here is very much in keeping with the Genesis way of doing things. For buyers that want a sportier look, there’s also the GV80 Coupe.

But step inside and you will see the real draw.

Genesis has put together one of the finest interiors you can buy, period. The cabin is rich and well put together, with premium materials on every surface and an attention to detail that would do credit to brands with decades more history. You can feel it in the stitching and trim, and in the quilted leather.

Then there is the 27-inch display that takes over the dash, merging the infotainment and digital gauges into a single, uninterrupted screen. It is modern and unobtrusive.

Comfort is equally well catered for. The front seats are very supportive on long hauls and the driver’s massage function is a nice touch of luxury you won’t find in many rivals in this segment. Add in the quietness of the cabin, with little in the way of wind or road noise, and you get a serene drive that seems to cost more than it does.
