Nissan Achieves Record Financial Year Sales Result in Australia: Second Best Ever Sales Month
MELBOURNE – April 4, 2013: Nissan has continued its ongoing Australian sales drive with its eleventh consecutive monthly sales record, this time in March.
Nissan delivered 8,327 new cars in Australia last month, its best-ever local March sales result and the second-highest monthly sales figure it has achieved in Australia.
The company’s strong March sales result closes an outstanding fiscal year (April-March) for the Nissan brand in Australia. Having delivered close to 84,000 new vehicles during this period means Nissan has grown more than 20% compared to the previous fiscal year, a remarkable result given the Australian new-vehicle market grew around only 10% over the same period. Nissan’s latest Australian fiscal year result makes it one of the fastest-growing auto brands in the country. In fact, its 2012 fiscal year performance is its highest since the company was incorporated locally in 1966.
William F. Peffer Jr., Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Australia, said: “Several key factors are behind Nissan’s strong and sustained sales growth in Australia. My team and I have maintained an intense focus on the fundamentals of our business. We have capitalised on the new and refreshed Nissan models that have started to arrive locally and we have made it easier for Australian buyers to own a Nissan with a variety of simple and appealing finance offers.”
