Wright is currently seventh in the point standings with four of 14 races completed this season. He'll have plenty of family and friends on hand to cheer him on at The Glen, since it and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course are the two tracks closest to his home in Wexford, Pa., near Pittsburgh. Wright's No. 7 Elan DP02 is one of 15 MPC cars entered in the Watkins Glen doubleheader, which also attracted 10 Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) entries. His car is fielded by JDC MotorSports of Savage, Minn., and sponsored by Esmark Steel Group and PPG. Kris Wright, driver of the No. 7 Elan DP02 "I've raced at The Glen in other series before, and it's up there on my list of favorite tracks," Wright said. "It's really hard to put a track ahead of Watkins Glen. "I'm in the middle of the point standings right now, but I have one of the fastest cars in my class so I'm really excited to do well there," he added. The Prototype Challenge doubleheader is part of the prestigious Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen race weekend. The two 45-minute races on the 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course will be held at 2:25 p.m. on Friday, June 30 and 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 1. Live timing and scoring and live video coverage are slated for imsa.com and imsa.tv. The race will air on a tape-delayed basis from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 13 on FOX Sports 2.
