New Car/Review

Range Rover by JE

by Paul Negyesi

Eaton superchargered 4.6-liter engine which pumps out 285 bhp and all this isin a Range Rover - incredible isn't it? J.E. Engineering, the home tuner ofLand Rover was comissioned by an Ukrainan businessman to create the fastestand luxuriest Range Rover of all time. No expense was spared.

EngineThe engine is also equipped with new intercooler and enlarged injectors. Thebiggest problem was to synchronize the computer with the altered engine. Thecomputer acted strangely throughout our brief test: when we hit a bumpy roadand altered the settings we couldn't stop within a certain distance becausethe computer thought we'd spin and lenghtened the way while the car totallystopped! It was frightening. The car's quick, it has a max. speed of 130 mph.

Exterior...Interior

This hasn't been enlighted in its look: only the bars and the two pair ofexhaust pipes suggest - underneath there's something different. The interioris decorated with tons of leather in red and white. The dashboard, thegear-knob and the hand-brake lever is made of walnut. The steering wheel isalso of wooden rim but it also contains all the gadgets necessary in a luxuryoff-roader, including airbag. This car is currently a one-off and recentlybeen road tested by a Hungarian off-roader magazine, 4x4 Magazine.
