On this page we attempt to list most of the post war Austin cars made. Tables are divided into model, years built, engine details and owners club. Where appropriate, a URL is given to the car's home page.

Initially, these will only cover UK models - later, overseas models will be added. A brief guide to these is, however, given below.

  • The Long Night - 1968 - 1983 - The long dark night of the Leyland Soul.
  • The False Dawn - 1984 - 1987 - When we dared hope again. but to no avail

USA

  • Austin Cambrian Same as UK Austin Cambridge.
  • Austin America - UK Austin 1300 Automatic
  • Austin Marina - not actually an Austin at all - a Morris Marina.
  • Nash Metropolitan - Austin Metropolitan marketed by Nash / Hudson

Australia

  • Austin Lancer - UK Wolseley 1500 with different grill , tail and A50 interior
  • Austin Freeway - Stretched A60 Cambridge with locally developed 6 cylinder B series engine.
  • Austin Kimberley / Tasman - UK Austin 2200 with different front and rear, E6 engine.

South Africa

  • Austin Apache - UK Austin 1300 with Triumph 2000 - like front and rear ends.
  • Austin Mini MkIII - 'Booted' Austin Mini a la Wolseley Hornet and Riley Elf
  • Austin Marina - aka Morris Marina - at one time offered with a 6 cylinder engine (frightening!)
