Auto racing in North America, particularly stock car racing, enjoys a long rich history, with many of todays top drivers enjoying celebrity status. Today stock car racing has evolved into a sophisticated, multi-faceted,highly organized and professional national sport that helps numerous companies promote their products.
In Canada the elite class of stock car racing is the CASCAR division. Based, like NASCAR on North American manufactured cars produced by Ford, GM and Chrysler the CASCAR division runs to an extremely rigid (zero tolerance) rules structure that has resulted in CASCAR racing being the most entertaining and competitive in Canada. CASCAR racing takes place on oval tracks (paved) and road courses at or near major cities acrocss Canada.
