The Auto Channel
  Technical Information

Thanks for visiting The Auto Channel. TACH has been designed to take advantage of all the latest internet technologies, with a wide eye opened towards the future. Our goal is to create what can currently best be described as an interactive television network; with full motion video, high quality audio, multi-point AV user communication, and comprehensive information archives. Achieving this goal requires that we employ all the tools capable of operating with Netscape 3.0 and the forthcoming Netscape 4.0 browsers, or their Microsoft Explorer equivalents.

Netscape browsers below 3.0 (or their Explorer equivalents) will not allow you to enjoy many of our most unique features. The most current Netscape and Explorer browsers can be downloaded for free, and we strongly suggest that you do so before continuing your visit through The Auto Channel. Links to Netscape and Microsoft can be found in our Tune Up Kit, which is located at The Auto Channel studio exterior.

YOU'LL NEED SPEED & SIZE
To optimize your own experience on The Auto Channel, we recommend using the fastest modems and computers available. Although internet users with 14.4 and 9600 kbs modems will be able to access many of our databases and text materials, complete results will be realized only by using 28.8 and faster modems, especially our live and real-time audio and video elements. In the very near future we will begin creating audio and video materials specifically for ISDN, ADSL, and cable modem access.

Your monitor display should be set for a minimum resolution size of 800X600. Monitors set at 640X480 will not allow you to simultaneously view all information and control panels. Resizing your monitor display on WIN 95 is quickly and easily done by right clicking on the desktop, left clicking on properties, then select settings in order to adjust the color pallette and desktop area to an available higher setting. WIN 3.1 users may need to use the Windows Setup Program to change from VGA to SVGA, if this is supported by the video graphics card, otherwise use the software provided by the video graphics card manufacturer.
