IMPCO Teams Up With Mitsubishi Motors Australia on Magna LPG Vehicle

27 December 2000

IMPCO Teams Up With Mitsubishi Motors Australia on Magna LPG Vehicle
CERRITOS, Calif., Dec. 27 IMPCO Technologies, Inc.
announced today the new IMPCO dual fuel LPG system for the
Mitsubishi Magna V6 automatic sedan which was developed in conjunction with
Mitsubishi's engineers and is the only Mitsubishi factory-endorsed system
available. It has been designed specifically to match the requirements of
Magna's technologically advanced drive train and engine management systems in
both Australia and New Zealand.
A key benefit for high mileage users such as fleets is that, unlike most
LPG systems, the Magna's vehicle service intervals are the same as those,
which normally apply for gasoline-fuelled vehicles. "This IMPCO-Mitsubishi
package gives excellent performance for users and apart from being of real
financial benefit for high kilometer fleets, it benefits the environment as
well," said Mitsubishi's General Manager of Fleet Sales, Rex Keily.
Mr. Robert M. Stemmler, Chairman and CEO said that IMPCO is pleased by the
initial response in the market to the Magna LPG system and is also encouraged
by the prospect of future OEM development programs with Mitsubishi in advanced
automotive system technologies. Stemmler added, "Working with Mitsubishi has
been a great addition to our OEM customer base in the Asia-Pacific basin which
already includes Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Isuzu." He also stated that
IMPCO's strong financial and global technological position enables the Company
to partner with OEMs worldwide to further advance the alternative fuels and
fuel cell markets.

IMPCO is the leading resource of advanced fuel storage, fuel metering and
electronic control systems for fuel cells, microturbines and internal
combustion engines enabling them to operate using economical, clean-burning
fuels such as hydrogen, propane, natural gas, landfill-gas and methanol.
IMPCO designs each system to optimize efficiency and performance while
reducing emission to the lowest-levels. IMPCO supplies systems to original
equipment manufacturers in the automotive, industrial, materials handling and
power generation industries. We support the global aftermarket through a
network of more than 400 Distributors and Service Parts Organizations.
