The Favorite Cars of Comparison Shoppers: October 2000 PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 7 InvoiceDealers, The Leader in
Automotive Comparison Shopping, released the favorite cars, trucks, SUVs and
minivans of online comparison shoppers in October 2000.
About the Study
The Comparison Shopping Popularity Index(SM) calculates each vehicle's
popularity using a proprietary weighted formula. The study results are derived
from online selections made by car shoppers who view, compare, and choose from
instant competing price quotes on the InvoiceDealers system.
October Results
The Honda Accord maintained its position as the favorite car of online
comparison shoppers. The Honda Civic and Toyota Camry followed it for the
fifth consecutive month.
The Ford F-Series dominated the truck category for the eighth time,
drawing almost three times more interest than any other pickup truck.
The newly released Ford Escape dethroned the Ford Explorer as the top SUV.
The seven-time champ fell out of favor as the Escape took over in only its
second month in the Index. The 2001 Mazda Tribute also made its Index debut in
October.
The top five Minivans maintained their rankings, led by the Honda Odyssey.
The lower half of the list welcomed newcomers Pontiac Montana and Oldsmobile
Silhouette.
