Infiniti Launches Unique Marketing Concept- Innovative CD-Rom Links Consumers to 2002 Q45 LaunchGARDENA, Calif. - Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan North America, Inc. announced today its pre-launch marketing activities for the all-new third generation 2002 Q45. The innovative kick off, which begins this month, consists of a marketing effort that has at its core the widespread distribution of an innovative CD-ROM. Created in partnership with FreeLane, Powered by Excite, an Internet service provider, the CD links consumers to the Internet via a customizable Infiniti start page, provides a video introduction to the 2002 Q45, and features four new jazz singles from the Verve Music Group, a well-known jazz recording company. Infiniti will begin distribution of the CD at the final race of the Indy Racing Northern Light Series, the Excite 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on October 15. The CD enables consumers to sign up for complimentary Internet service via FreeLane and once online, they can customize their Infiniti-sponsored start page-from the weather and stock reports right down to the Infiniti vehicle featured on the page. In addition to the jazz music selections, which can be listened to in any CD player, the compact disc also offers a link to Tower Records' Web site, where users can purchase recordings by their favorite Verve artist. Finally, the first installment of the CD provides a video introduction to the all-new 2002 Q45, which goes on sale at all Infiniti retailers next spring. The video launches a new start page that links users to specific product categories, such as safety, performance, design, technology and luxury. Each category features Infiniti engineers, designers, and even Infiniti Indy driver Eddie Cheever talking about the vehicle's unique, new attributes. In January, Infiniti will release a second installment of the CD that features four new jazz music selections. The third production will coincide with the March 2001 launch of the 2002 Q45 and offer more specific product information, as well as four new jazz music cuts. Between the three productions, Infiniti plans to distribute 3.75 million copies of the CD by the end of March. The disc will be included as part of a 2002 Q45 pre-launch mailing and distributed at a variety of venues, including auto shows, the Infiniti sponsored San Francisco Jazz Festival, through Infiniti retailers and at regional marketing events. Infiniti is supported by a network of over 150 retailers throughout North America and offers a range of luxury vehicles including the Infiniti QX4 luxury Sport Utility Vehicle, G20 sports sedan, I30 luxury sedan, and flagship Q45 luxury performance sedan.
