MagNetPoint Announces New `Interactive Dashboard' for Vertical Markets

    SAN JOSE, Ca.--Oct. 4, 2000--

Easy Web Interface Kick Starts Messaging Services for CRM, Health
Care, Real Estate, Financial, Sales Automation Markets and more

    ASPWorld Conference (Booth 623)

"The level of our Interactive Dashboard functionality is unique, and we're the first to merge together capabilities from the growing dashboard and messaging markets," said Ron Hooper, president and CEO of MagNetPoint. "To date, these markets have not been able to move beyond traditional desktop instant messaging, so their functionality and types of interactions have been very limited."
According to IDC (International Data Corporation) Senior Analyst, Robert Mahowald, "When we look at the market for applications that add value to new mobile computing devices, the ones which will mean the most for business are those with key differentiators, such as intuitive interfaces," said Mahowald.
The Interactive Dashboard converges multiple devices through a Web interface so that users can set their own rules for receiving all types of messages (voicemail, fax, e-mail, interactive TV, PDAs, two-way pagers, cell phones, wireline and WAP-enabled phones). This functionality moves well beyond basic instant messaging by offering the ability to control communications, not only between the Web and device, but also from device to device. For example, it even routes messages between pagers and cell phones.

The true interactive nature of MagNetPoint's Interactive Dashboard offers:

1) Real-Time Voice Chat - For the first time, end users won't have to finish talking before others can hear their voice. This promotes more natural conversations, and even promotes conferencing, as MagNetPoint's technology is equipped to handle the set-up, call invitations, and even records conference calls.

2) Programmability - Now, for example, service providers can program whatever messages they want their users to receive, plus provide a quick list of options for the users to choose from. This is ideal for verticals wanting to initiate Web-based On Demand customer support programs.

3) Two-Way, Real-Time Communications - End users benefit from the option to respond immediately (i.e. two-way) and in real-time. To date, no other two-way interactive system has been merged into Web interface control systems, such as the Interactive Dashboard.

MagNetPoint is targeting the Interactive Dashboard to vertical markets, particularly niche portals and service providers seeking to bundle collaboration, notification and messaging services into their service offerings. Subscribers and members will use the Interactive Dashboard to receive messages when they need them on their own terms, plus take advantage of the ability to compose various types of messages from any medium.

For the enterprise, basic Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions are possible through the Interactive Dashboard's rules-based forwarding and event-triggering technology. The dashboard ties into standard ERP systems, databases, and directories as an automatic notification tool. When inventories drop, for example, the Interactive Dashboard displays notifications to team members with automatic, real-time options, such as whether to order more product, check prices, hold inventory, etc.

Availability and Pricing

The Interactive Dashboard is available with all MagNetPoint products and through MagNetPoint's software development kit. Pricing starts at $30 per user for MagNetScope--user-defined, interactive notification over any device.
