AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship 2001 Schedule

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Pro Racing has announced the tentative schedule for the 2001 Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited. The AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship will visit 11 race courses and will include competition in the premier Chevy Trucks Superbike Series, the AMA Pro Honda Oils 600 SuperSport Series, the 750 SuperSport Series, the Formula Xtreme Series, the Pro Thunder Series and the 250 Grand Prix Series. The season will begin with its season-opener, the March 7-11 Daytona 200, at Daytona International Speedway. Closing out the season will be a new venue on the calendar Sept. 28-30, Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va. Round two of the series will be held at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., May 4-6. After that, Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga., and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., will once again host Chevy Trucks Superbike doubleheaders on May 18-20, and June 8-10 respectively. The series will then head to Loudon, N.H., on June 15-17 for the 78th running of the Loudon Classic at New Hampshire International Speedway. On July 6-8, Laguna Seca Raceway will host the sixth round of the Chevy Trucks Superbike Championship in conjunction with a round of the World Superbike Championships, in Monterey, Calif. The series will then swing to the Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, on July 20-22 for the final doubleheader of the series. One week later the series moves to Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn., July 27-29, and on to Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo., Aug. 24-26, and will stop at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, Calif., Sept. 14-16, prior to the season finale in Virginia.
