TORNADO to Boost Gas-Guzzling SUVs Gas Mileage as Much as 24%TORNADO Will be at COPS WEST, Calif Peace Officer's Assn, Ontario, California, Sept 20-22, 2000 SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif., Sept 19 TORNADO AIMS to Improve Fuel Efficiency. TORNADO is a unique automotive device that creates a swirling motion in the air intake systems of automobile engines. It swiftly moves air around twists and bends, enhancing fuel atomization and improving efficiency and performance. In tests performed by an EPA/CARB -- licensed emissions lab, the swirling effect of the TORNADO has been shown to improve gas mileage by as much as 24 percent. According to the recent article in Business Fleet Magazine -- Aftermarket add-ons which purport to increase vehicle gas mileage and performance are best approached with caution, but the TORNADO has many backers. Jeff Brooks, host of the nationally syndicated radio show "On the Road with Jeff Brooks," says his 1970 Dodge SuperBee went from 10 to 13 mpg with the TORNADO. Sam Memmolo, host of "ShadeTree Mechanic" on TNN, also endorses the device. Ron Bell, professor of automotive technology at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., says, "Students in my advanced EFI class this past semester put the TORNADO on a 94 Chevy Tahoe 350. I was skeptical, but test after test showed an increased MPG from 11 to 14.5! Also noticed no flat spot around 35-40 MPH and improved acceleration." The bottom line is, this thing works," Bell told Business Fleet. Mr. Johnson, Equipment Maintenance Superintendent, City of Norwalk, says, "We could conceivably save at least 10% on fuel cost. Even at an average of $1 per gallon, this number could easily reach $10,000 in savings yearly. It's easily installed in vehicles. It never needs to be replaced or even cleaned, it's a one shot deal!"
