1 September 2000
BOWLING GREEN, Ky., Aug. 31 Cleveland, Ohio's Liberty Racing Team has named Brian Rose the driver of the #98 Ford for the September 7 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 200 in Richmond, Virginia. Rose missed qualifying for his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race by only 0.002 seconds at the Federated Auto Parts 250 at Nashville (Tenn.) Speedway USA on August 12. "I'm excited about running with Liberty Racing," said Rose. "We've already developed a great relationship in our testing, and it's sure to carry over to the qualifying and racing." "These guys have a history of success that's hard to match anywhere," Rose added. "Richmond's going to be a tough race, and I can't think of another team I'd rather be part of when it's time to climb in and get the job done." Liberty Racing, a charter member of the NCTS, has won three races and two poles in its four years of competition. This year the Cleveland, Ohio, team has posted two top ten finishes and one top five finish. The team has previously included such drivers as Kevin Harvick, Butch Miller, Kenny Martin, and the late Kenny Irwin. "We're looking forward to going to Richmond with Brian Rose," said Liberty Racing Team owner Angelo Martin. "In testing he showed a great sense of patience and quickly found a smooth line on a race track he had never seen before. We feel he will be a great asset to our team and we look forward to working with him." Liberty Racing crewmembers include Crew Chief Rodney Haygood, Truck Chief Bud Haefele, and Engine Tuner Bob Tebo. Brian Rose, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, is in his second year as driver of the Robo Enterprises #72 Monte Carlo in NASCAR's Late Model Stock Car division of the Weekly Racing Series at Nashville Speedway USA.
