Subaru Announces Pricing on 2001 Model Year Impreza
CHERRY HILL, N.J., Aug. 10 Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA),
a pioneer of crossover all-wheel drive vehicles designed for the active
lifestyle, announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of
the exciting 2001 Impreza models. For the '01 model year, Impreza models
continue to offer tremendous value and performance, combined with the
confidence and control of the Subaru All-Wheel Driving System.

    Subaru Impreza:
Subaru Impreza is recognized around the globe as one of the most familiar
names in the World Rally Championship (WRC) series. In fact, the Impreza
World Rally Car won the World Rally Manufacturer's Championship an
unprecedented three years in a row (1995, 1996 and 1997). In 1999, Subaru won
more events than any other team.
In poor weather, full-time all-wheel drive gives Impreza traction that's
superior to the front- or rear-wheel drive systems found on the competition.
On dry roads, all-wheel drive and the long-travel four-wheel independent
suspension provides Impreza with a measure of driving excitement unexpected in
this competitive segment. In fact, the Subaru Impreza L models are the
least-expensive AWD passenger cars available in the U.S. (based on MSRP of all
all-wheel drive passenger cars sold in the U.S.).

    Impreza L:
For the 2001 model year, Impreza L models feature the 2.2-liter, 142 hp
SOHC boxer engine. Available in coupe, sedan and sport wagon models, the 2001
Impreza L continues to offer all of the same popular features and equipment
included in the 2000 model year. All 2001MY Impreza L models come standard
with a 5-speed manual transmission and have an MSRP price increase of just
$100.

    Impreza 2.5 RS:
The 2001MY Impreza 2.5 RS coupe and sedan models bring a rally-winning
heritage to the street with an impressive array of standard features. The
hot-selling Impreza RS models feature a 2.5-liter, 165 hp SOHC boxer engine,
full-time all-wheel drive, sport-tuned suspension, and a viscous limited-slip
rear differential. For the '01 model year, all Impreza 2.5 RS models feature
a standard single disc CD player, 2.5 RS embroidered floor mats, carbon fiber
patterned interior trim and a standard 5-speed manual transmission. This
enhanced level of standard equipment increases the value of 2.5 RS models
significantly more than the MSRP increase of only $200.

    Impreza Outback Sport:
For the 2001 model year, Impreza Outback Sport models feature the
2.2-liter, 142 hp SOHC boxer engine, full-time all-wheel drive and a
4-channel, 4-sensor Anti-Lock Braking System. Impreza Outback Sport comes
equipped with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. Impreza Outback Sport
has an MSRP increase of just $100.
All 2001MY Subaru vehicles comply with Low Emission Vehicle (LEV)
standards and are certified for sale in all 50 states. Additionally, all 2001
model feature the peace of mind of standard 24-hour roadside assistance
coverage for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
