7 August 2000

2000 FIM World Superbike Championship, Round 10: Brands Hatch, Kent, England,
August 6, 2000

Crashes in the opening moments of both 25-lap races marred the day for several
racers at round 10 of the World Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch in Great
Britain. Castrol Honda's Colin Edwards, who went down without injury in the
first race, finished tenth on the restart and sixth in race two, which saw
teammate Aaron Slight crash while trying to compensate for a slipping clutch.
Troy Bayliss and Neil Hodgson split the wins. Edwards remains the series points
leader over Troy Corser, 281-257, with three rounds to go.
