Poor Results Force Fleetwood RV Management Changes
31 July 2000
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of recreational vehicles and a leading producer and retailer of manufactured housing, announced Friday management changes within its recreational vehicle group. Richard E. Parks, Senior Vice President - Recreational Vehicle Group, and John R. Weiss, Vice President - Motor Homes, have stepped down from their positions effective immediately. Fleetwood President Nelson W. Potter said, "These changes stem from recent RV group operating performance which has not measured up to our expectations. In particular, the performance of our motor home division in recent quarters has fallen well short of our objectives. We appreciate the many contributions made by Mr. Parks and Mr. Weiss during their lengthy Fleetwood careers. However, we believe that a change in leadership and direction for the RV group is necessary in order to get things back on track with our longer-term objectives." Potter indicated that decisions have not yet been made regarding replacements for these executives. Announcements will be made later on as these positions are filled.
