ArvinMeritor Captures Major Supply Contract with Blue Bird Corp.

    TROY, Mich. - ArvinMeritor, Inc. has announced a new multi-year supply 
contract with Blue Bird Corporation, a leading manufacturer of school buses, 
commercial buses and motorcoaches, based in Macon, Ga.  Blue Bird produces 
approximately 6,500 vehicles annually.

    Effective Spring 2001, ArvinMeritor will supply steer and drive axles, cam
and hydraulic disc brakes, hubs and drums, and anti-lock braking systems to
the specialty vehicle manufacturer's five manufacturing facilities located
across the United States and Mexico.

premier manufacturer with whom we sought a business partnership.  We clearly
recognized them as a key vehicle manufacturer of tomorrow, and we wanted to be
their technological solutions partner in drivetrain and braking componentry,"
said Sergio L. Carvalho, vice president and general manager of ArvinMeritor
Commercial Vehicle Systems' Specialty Products business.

    ArvinMeritor will manufacture components for Blue Bird at these
facilities:  front steer axles and rear drive axles from Asheville-Arden,
N.C.; cam brakes from Manning, S.C.; hydraulic disc brakes from Moraine, Ohio;
hubs and drums from Franklin, Ky., and anti-lock braking systems (by Meritor
WABCO Vehicle Control Systems) from Hebron, Ky.
