ABOUT THE BAY HARBOR RESORT AND MARINA DISTRICT:
Bay Harbor is one of the largest and most significant land reclamation
projects in the country. The developers turned a wasteland left by two
century-old quarries and an abandoned cement factory into 1,200 acres of a
world-class resort spanning five miles on the northern Lake Michigan
shorefront.
The Marina District opened in 1999, and is considered one of the jewels of
a top national resort. It is an extraordinary selection of charming retail
shops, tempting eateries and art galleries, all in a unique northern Michigan
maritime setting. The Marina District creates a complete day trip and
evening's entertainment for the entire family. The Bay Harbor Place is an
intimate boutique hotel that features more than 75 beautifully furnished
rooms, suites and penthouse suites for rent, with all the amenities of a
four-star, full service resort facility.
