Ford Credit Licenses Mobius ViewDirect Technology

13 July 2000

Image-based Loan System Will Process 400,000 Documents a Day

RYE, N.Y. - Mobius Management Systems, Inc. today announced that Ford Credit, the world's largest automotive finance organization and a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, has licensed Mobius ViewDirect technology to implement an image-based system to provide online loan information.

Ford Credit is consolidating some of the functions from its 140 North American branches into regional loan centers. Two thousand loan service representatives will have Web access to all documents associated with a loan, including the application and vehicle title as well as items such as towing tickets and repossession documents. The new system will process about 400,000 documents a day in the regional centers.

Mobius ViewDirect technology provides high-speed access, distribution and presentation of diverse enterprise information over the Internet and corporate networks. Paper loan documents are scanned and stored in ViewDirect. A workflow component routes task lists to the regional loan centers, automating the business process. Loan service representatives, using Web browsers, can provide fast response to customer inquiries by having immediate access to all the documents related to a customer's loan.

"We are pleased to have been chosen for this mission-critical project," said Mitchell Gross, CEO and president of Mobius Management Systems, Inc. "Our ViewDirect architecture is ideally suited to organizations that need access to large volumes of financial documents in various formats. ViewDirect technology will give the enterprise a better view of its customer relationships from any desktop, anywhere in the distributed enterprise."
