Caliber Collision Centers Promotes Key Executives

    IRVINE, Calif - Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based consolidator of high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas, Wednesday announced the promotions of Doug Boazman, Shawn Hezar and Dan Pettigrew.

    During the past three years, Caliber has grown from four to 35 centers with annual revenues exceeding $125 million.

    According to Bill Lawrence, chief operating officer, fundamental to Caliber Collision Centers' successful performance has been the development of an operator-focused infrastructure that effectively supports the field operations in delivery of quality repairs, claim support services, and exceptional customer service.

    "In preparation for future business opportunities, we have implemented key organizational changes that will position Caliber Collision Centers for continued aggressive growth," Lawrence said. "These changes strengthen our leadership team as Caliber builds on its position as the largest independent provider of collision repair services in North America.

    "In addition, these changes reinforce our desire to build our brand awareness as the acquirer, employer and provider of choice."

    Doug Boazman

    Boazman, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, has been promoted to senior vice president, operations. Boazman is responsible for overseeing the development and operations of Caliber's rapidly expanding Texas business. One of the most respected collision repair operators, Boazman was the co-owner of Slim's Paint & Body, Caliber's multi-unit platform acquisition in San Antonio.

    Boazman has served on the advisory board for Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, St. Phillips College (Collision Division), San Antonio I-CAR, and San Antonio School District of Career and Technology.

    Shawn Hezar

    Hezar, a resident of Newport Beach, has been promoted to senior vice president, client services & operations. In this newly created position, Hezar will design and implement the enterprise-wide delivery of the firm's value propositions, responsible for all aspects of operations related to the meeting of Caliber's service commitments to both customer and client.

    In this role, Hezar will also have responsibility for marketing, vendor relations, regulatory and legislative compliance, as well as risk management.

    Prior to joining Caliber, Hezar owned Shawn's Auto Works, Inc., a high-quality collision repair facility in Costa Mesa, Calif., which Caliber acquired in 1997 as part of its Orange County platform. A recent graduate of the Executive Management program from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, Hezar is a certified collision repair manager and an ASE certified paint technician.

    He is an active participant in industry associations including the California Autobody Association, CIC and I-CAR.

    Dan Pettigrew

    Pettigrew, a resident of Aliso Viejo, has been promoted to senior vice president, technology & integration. Prior to joining Caliber in September 1997, Pettigrew had several years of business consulting experience, most recently with George Group, Inc., a management consulting and acquisition, turn-around firm in Dallas.

    He has also served as a management consultant with Deloitte & Touche and Andersen Consulting, where he focused on technology solutions, cycle time improvement and customer service delivery in both manufacturing and service businesses. Pettigrew holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

    Pettigrew is responsible for linking business and systems integration, and is charged with developing and executing Caliber's Internet, intranet and extranet strategies, as well as accounting and management systems. Additionally, Dan oversees Caliber's Call Center, acquisition integration and facility management functions.

    Caliber currently owns and operates 35 facilities and plans to continue acquiring, developing and integrating high-volume collision repair centers while providing innovative collision repair solutions and automobile physical damage claims support.
