AAA Michigan Addresses Driver's Ed Issues at School Seminar

24 June 2000

DETROIT - Detroit Public Schools driver education teachers may learn a few
lessons Saturday, June 24, when AAA Michigan traffic safety specialists Burr
Smith and Paul Weber borrow their classroom.

Smith and Weber will provide in-depth information on a host of traffic
safety issues -- road rage, drinking and driving, problems of teen drivers and
the success of Michigan's graduated licensing law -- as part of an in-service
workshop conducted for driver education staff at the School Center Building,
5057 Woodward Ave., from 9-noon.

"A comprehensive driver education program is critical to the prevention of
fatal traffic crashes involving young drivers and their passengers," says
Smith. "We hope to add a few tools to the arsenal in this fight to save
lives."
