10-year/120,000 Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, Trooper's 63% Increase Drives Isuzu SUV Sales

CERRITOS, Calif - American Isuzu Motors Inc.'s SUV division, today announced
that core SUV sales increased 20 percent in May, 2000 compared with the same
period a year ago. Year-to-date core SUV sales are up a healthy 15 percent.

Trooper's May 2000 sales grew by an impressive 63 percent over May of last
year with year-to-date sales up 48 percent. The 2WD version is carving out a
solid niche in the Luxury SUV segment. It now represents 38 percent of
Trooper sales. Trooper is backed, as are all Isuzu SUVs, by America's Longest
Warranty, the 10-year or 120,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty.

Rodeo, AIMI's most popular SUV, performed extremely well in the highly
competitive four-door compact segment in May. Rodeo sales rose 10 percent
this May compared to last with the year-to-date total sales standing at 23,206
units for an increase of seven percent. Features such as Intelligent
Suspension Control(TM) and America's Longest Powertrain Limited Warranty
continue to make Rodeo AIMI's best selling SUV.

Amigo, the most powerful subcompact SUV on the market is up for the year
by 1325 units or 31 percent.

The Isuzu VehiCROSS, with unmatched style and ability, remains one of the
world's premier SUVs as well as Isuzu's image leader.

"May presented us with an uncertain market that appears to have slowed the
increase in vehicle sales overall. Nevertheless, Isuzu SUVs performed
exceptionally well in May. Our 10-year, 120,000 mile Powertrain Limited
Warranty is proving a powerful motivator that assures buyers of the
outstanding value of Isuzu SUVs," said Buck Trawick, AIMI Vice President, SUV
sales.

American Isuzu Motors Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Isuzu sport utility
vehicles -- backed by America's Longest Warranty, the 10-year or 120,000-mile
Powertrain Limited Warranty -- commercial vehicles and diesel engines.
