AMA Supercross results from Las Vegas; Sears Point AMA Superbike round cancelled

2000 AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series, Round 16 (final round): Sam Boyd Stadium,
Las Vegas, Nevada, May 6, 2000

The 2000 AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series wrapped up at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las
Vegas with Honda Red Riders making a strong showing in the season's last race.
Mike LaRocco put his Team Amsoil/Factory Connection/Jack in the Box-backed
CR250R into second place in the main event while factory racer Kevin Windham led
most of the main event and eventually finished third behind LaRocco and winner
Jeremy McGrath. Honda Red Rider Sebastien Tortelli grabbed the holeshot in the
main and ended up sixth at the checkered flag.

Next week, the Honda Red Riders begin the outdoor AMA Chevy Trucks US Motocross
Championship in San Bernardino, California on Sunday, May 14.

California, May 6-7, 2000

Continued storms on Sunday and the forecast for more rain on Monday has caused
the AMA to cancel the Sears Point round of the AMA/Chevy
Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship. The next race in the series will take place
at Road Atlanta on June 2-4.
