Year 2000 SUVs Excels Sales Through April

CERRITOS, Calif. - American Isuzu Motors Inc.'s (AIMI) SUV division, closed
the month of April, 2000 with core SUV year-to-date sales growing 14 percent.

Trooper's April 2000 sales showed a sound 16 percent increase over April
of last year. The recent addition of a 2WD version, with the backing of
America's Longest Warranty, the 10-year or 120,000-mile Powertrain Limited
Warranty, is credited with keeping April sales buoyant.

Rodeo, AIMI's sales volume leader, matched its performance of April last
year and is up six percent for the year. New Intelligent Suspension
Control(TM), grade logic automatic transmission, and America's Longest
Powertrain Limited Warranty are just a few of the features that make Rodeo
AIMI's best selling SUV.

Amigo, AIMI's big-little sport ute with the most power and room in any
subcompact SUV, sold well in April. Amigo's four percent sales increase over
its April '99 performance represents a good performance in the traditionally
soft second-quarter opening.

The Isuzu VehiCROSS, one of the world's most technologically advanced
SUVs, continues to be an outstanding flagship model for Isuzu.

"We're opening the second-quarter with a solid performance from our entire
SUV line. Our 10-year, 120,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty continues to
motivate new buyers by providing them with a level of confidence unmatched by
our competitors," said Buck Trawick, AIMI Vice President, SUV sales.
