Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. Announces Sale of Michigan Automotive Research Corporation To Group Lotus Limited
    CINCINNATI, Feb. 25 -- Cincinnati-based Eagle-Picher
Industries, Inc., has sold its Michigan Automotive Research Corporation
subsidiary to Group Lotus Limited.  Terms of the transaction were not
disclosed.  This transaction is part of Eagle-Picher's previously announced
plan to divest certain smaller business units in order to focus on core
divisions.
    Eagle-Picher, founded in 1843, is a diversified manufacturer of industrial
products for the automotive, defense, aerospace, construction and other
industrial markets worldwide.  The company operates more than 50 plants, and
has 6,700 employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom,
Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Japan, India and China.
