Car and Driver Tech Editor Dies in Crash
    ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 12 -- Don Schroeder, 35, senior
technical editor for Car and Driver magazine, died Friday at Fort Stockton,
Texas, following the crash of a modified vehicle that he was test driving.  He
was sole occupant.
    Csaba Csere, editor-in-chief of the publication, said, "Don was an
experienced and fully-qualified test driver.  We share with his family, his
friends and his readers, grief in his death.  He was a good friend, a great
writer and a true car guy.  It is a tragic loss and we will miss him."
    Funeral services are pending.
