Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ-NM symbol: TCNO), a pioneer and world leader of Digital Factory software, announced today that Renault, the French auto manufacturer, has placed an order worth $850,000 for software and services for manufacturing its next mid-range model. The initial orders cover software and services to be delivered during the first six months of the multi-year car program.
The mid-range segment represents a significant portion of Renault's total vehicle sales and demonstrates Renault's high standard of style, value and quality. Tecnomatix' extensive offering and experience in manufacturing is expected to make a major contribution to this program's success.
Renault has been using Tecnomatix solutions for over 10 years. Throughout this time, Tecnomatix has consistently demonstrated its ability to deliver robust process engineering products that have helped the car manufacturer improve production processes, reduce costs and time to market.
"Renault's choice is a further expression of the confidence that world-leaders in the automotive industry have in Tecnomatix software and its ability to improve their production processes," said Harel-Beit-On, president, and chief executive officer of Tecnomatix Technologies. "Renault has been using our Digital Factory software for many years for detailed design of work cells. We are particularly pleased that Renault will start using our products early in its mid-range car program - in the preplanning phase - which will enable them to plan and evaluate different alternatives up front and help them to make more reliable decisions."
Renault will use Tecnomatix' products for designing car body assembly processes, analyzing product assemblies and manufacturing feasibility, and creating quality inspection programs. In addition, Renault will use Tecnomatix software in the preplanning phase, for conceptual design and optimization of assembly lines including line balancing, logistics, and in-line delivery. Tecnomatix tools will facilitate collaborative design among suppliers and partners.
