Best-Ever January Sales Reported by Lexus Central Area

    CHICAGO, Feb. 3 -- Lexus Central Area dealers posted best-
ever January sales of 2,284 vehicles, a 29 percent increase over January 1999
when 1,766 were sold.
    The RX300 sport utility vehicle continues to be the Lexus Central Area's
volume leader, accounting for 1,237 sales, a 68 percent increase over last
year.  The LX470 posted a sales increase of 26 percent over last January.
Both had best-ever January sales.
    "A strong economy, along with competitively priced and relevant products
were key contributors to our best-ever month," said Nancy Davies, area manager
for the Lexus Central Area.  "We anticipate the new millennium to be equally
strong and a great time to buy or lease a new Lexus.  January 2000 marked the
12th consecutive month of increased sales."
    Headquartered in Naperville, Ill., the Lexus Central Area distributes
Lexus vehicles and provides sales, service, parts and customer support to 39
dealers in the Midwest.
