Southeast Toyota Closes Year On High Note
MIAMI, Jan. 18 -- With total retail sales of 206,821 cars and
trucks in 1999, Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc., today reported a new
annual sales record. The former record, set in 1998, was surpassed by seven
percent.
Spurred by the debut of the all-new full-size Tundra pickup, truck sales
advanced 19 percent. Car sales increased five percent, led by the Kentucky-
built Sienna minivan, up 17 percent, and the North American-built Corolla
sedan, up four percent. Also contributing to the surge in sales were two
recently debuted models: the restyled Celica and the affordable all-new ECHO.
Nationwide, the Toyota Division sold over one million cars and trucks for
the sixth consecutive year and Toyota's Camry earned the title of best-selling
car in America for the third consecutive year. Ranked first among Toyota's
American distributors in sales and customer satisfaction, Southeast Toyota is
the independent distributor of Toyota cars and trucks in Alabama, Florida,
Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Owned and operated by JM Family
Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota is based in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
