Titan Joins Fender to Produce an Industry First
PHOENIX, Jan. 18 -- In an industry-leading move, Titan
Motorcycle Co. of America announced today that it has reached
an agreement with Fender Musical Instruments and Destiny Marketing LLC to
produce a collector-series motorcycle and guitar set. The result is the
remarkable pairing of the Stratocaster, unquestionably the greatest guitar of
all time, with one of the most respected and sought-after motorcycles ever
created.
"The coming together of Fender and Titan, both leaders in their respective
industries, in this joint project is truly groundbreaking," said Mark Green,
Titan's director of marketing. "The design teams from Fender, Titan and
Destiny have marshaled their talents and resources to create a provocative
motorcycle/guitar set for the discriminating connoisseur."
The limited-edition set will be appropriately named the
Strat-O-Cruiser(TM). The classically styled 1835cc high-performance bike,
with companion design features inspired by the guitar, comes equipped with an
authentic Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster-style guitar, handcrafted especially
for the Strat-O-Cruiser(TM) Collection and mounted alongside the bike with a
specially appointed hand-crafted leather holster. Adding to the uniqueness of
this exceptional combination is an integral official Fender amplifier,
creating truly mobile entertaining possibilities.
The Strat-O-Cruiser(TM) will be unveiled for selected press and guests on
January 20 at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Auction in Phoenix. It will be
premiered for the music industry at the National Association of Music
Manufacturers Show (NAMM) to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center,
February 3 through 6, 2000.
    Sales of Strat-O-Cruiser(TM) limited-edition motorcycle/guitar sets are
scheduled to begin January 20, 2000.
