NEW YORK, Jan. 5 -- More than 60% of the automobiles now on
the road utilize the computerized braking benefits provided by four-wheel
anti-lock brakes (ABS). When a car has ABS, the method of braking in an
emergency situation is different than when the car utilizes traditional
brakes. With ABS, the driver should STOMP on the brakes and STAY on them
firmly, and then he or she will be able to STEER to safety.
